It secures businesses by obtaining verification from Meta, ensuring that users can trust they are engaging with legitimate businesses. To achieve Meta Verification, businesses must demonstrate their authenticity to Meta, and in return, they receive a verified badge, enhanced account support, and protection against impersonation.

Additionally, Meta Verified offers premium features to interested businesses, such as the ability to create a customized WhatsApp page easily discoverable via web searches and multi-device support for multiple employees to handle customers’ doubts and inquiries. They started initiating testing of Meta Verified with small businesses by using WhatsApp’s new channel feature Business app and a new plan to roll it out to businesses on the WhatsApp Business Platform in the future.

WhatsApp channel is completely different from the already existing group, and community feature. Meta has been creating features to reach more people. Despite many features of WhatsApp, the channel is not end-to-end encrypted. When a channel is created, the administrator is granted a range of privileges, such as controlling content sharing within the company and managing membership requests, all within the WhatsApp channel. In the near future, administrators will harness the full potential of these capabilities. After posting their updates, WhatsApp will allow them 30 days to edit them before deleting them automatically.

Whenever a user shares an Update with a group or chat, a link leading back to the channel is thoughtfully embedded, allowing others to delve deeper into the content.

They are passionate about continually developing valuable features to enhance businesses’ customer service. Whatsapp warmly anticipates feedback on how these updates contribute to establishing connections, fostering relationships, and increasing productivity.

As Compare with other social media channels

Meta has already rolled out the Channels feature on Instagram. This functionality empowers creators to engage with their followers through a one-to-many communication avenue. WhatsApp Channels simplifies the process of staying updated on businesses, individuals, and organizations of interest, all within the app. Furthermore, users can benefit from additional features like an enhanced directory, reaction expressions, and message editing, all contributing to an enhanced user experience.

 “How to use It”

To join and utilize WhatsApp Channels efficiently, you have two primary methods at your disposal.

The first option involves using WhatsApp’s curated list, which is pre-filtered according to your geographical location. Alternatively, you can employ the search function, either by channel name or category, to locate channels aligning with your interests.

The second method permits you to establish a personal channel, provided you obtain the necessary approval from Meta. Nevertheless, it’s important to note that this feature is currently restricted to specific individuals and organizations. Over time, the ability to create channels will become accessible to a broader audience.

In essence, WhatsApp Channels strives to offer users a more discreet and user-friendly means of receiving updates without exiting the application. Embrace this trend and stay well-informed.
